Color play: Urban Decay Vice Palette.

Hey guys! I've had this palette for a while and wanted to play with some of the fantastic vibrant colors, so I made a picture tutorial for you guys on the look I created!

To start out I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion, and then used a NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as a white base all over the lids (which I failed to photograph) but you get the idea.

I then started blending the beautifully striking blue from the palette called Chaos into the crease.
Now being that this color is so bright you have to work with it very carefully, add a little, blend, repeat.
Much easier to add then try to take away. I suggest using colors like Laced and Anonymous from the palette to blend up into your skin color.

Next I picked up the color noise onto a flat shader brush and wet it a bit (I used Mac Fix Plus but you can use water or a mixing medium) just so the color would be even more intense and make a sharper line against the blue (totally optional).I wanted it to be a soft cut crease, so I tried to keep the line between those two colors somewhat sharp.

I then added a bit of the dark grey/black color Black Market on the outer V and lightly into the crease to make it almost a midnight blue right where Chaos and Noise meet.

I added the white base from the first step onto the lower lash line, so the colors we're about to place here would be more vibrant and have something to stick to.

Now adding the same blue color Chaos on the outer third of the lower lash line.

Then the pink shade Noise on the inner third.

And then a dark purple shade, which happens to share the name as the palette Vice in the center to blend the two together.

Final Step!
I tight lined my eyes with a black eyeshadow, and then did a thin winged out line on the top using Urban Decay 24/7 liquid liner in Perversion.

And we're done!

Long time no see! Summer favorites!

Summer 2013 favorites (so far)

Hey guys! I know I know, I sort of disappeared for a while! I apologize for that, things have just been crazy busy.

NOW to the point of the post, SUMMER FAVORITES!
Here are the products i've been using and loving so far this summer.

BEAUTY FAVORITES:

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette
The first thing I want to talk about is probably my most used of the summer and that is the Naked Basics palette by Urban Decay. The palette contains 6 shades, 5 matte, 1 of a more satin finish. This has been my go to easy neutral palette all summer. Super compact for travel also great to throw in your bag for touch ups. Totally a must have for me!

Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid liner in Perversion
On days I don't really feel like doing much with my eyes I often just put on a thin line of liquid liner and some mascara, good to go! This liner is SUPER black and glides on beautifully. This formula is water proof, and it really does not budge, which is great for the summer time.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara

Aside from the name being awesome, this mascara is just wonderful. It makes my lashes look unbelievably long, while thickening WITHOUT clumping. I've barely touched another mascara lately because I am in love with the look this gives. It's also what they call a "natural" mascara and clinically proven to increase the appearance of lash volume, sweet right?

MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick
This lipstick is pretty much an all time favorite. Pink Plaid is the perfect muted mid toned pink. It has a matte finish, which is my personal favorite lip look and I absolutely love the formula.
This is the lipstick that finishes my makeup look.

Burt's Bees tinted lip balm
Everyone has used these at one point or another, right? Well I am hooked yet again! I love the color range, and being able to add a bit of color without the trouble/effort of putting on a lipstick. These moisturize wonderfully, look flawless and in my opinion; red dahlia is seriously stunning on any complexion.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
I love a good tinted moisturizer for something lighter on a summer day. Keeps your skin hydrated while evening out your complexion and looking totally natural. Tinted moisturizers are also very time friendly, apply with your hands like you would a regular moisturizer or my favorite a soft buffing brush and you're out the door!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This very affordable concealer has been my favorite for under the eyes this summer. Blends out very nicely, and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I wouldn't recommend this for covering spots as it's not very thick, but it evens out discoloration under the eyes or anywhere else you just want a bit of extra coverage beautifully.

extra beauty favorite:

A random beauty favorite, that isn't exactly a product this summer has been the Brazillian Blowout! It's a conditioning treatment you can get done at the salon that will keep your hair smooth, straight, and frizz free for about 3 months! With my naturally unmanageable hair this has been a life saver. It's seriously so wonderful to be able to take a shower and either blow dry my hair out or let it air dry with no worry of straightening or trying to tame the mane! For more information about it and a much better explanation of how it works that I can give, check out this website.

FASHION:

Something we haven't done much here on the blog is talk about fashion!
Here are a few photos from my instagram and whatnot of my summer style, then we'll get into some specifics!

                           Forever 21 $11.80    Love Me Melrose $22.50          Forever 21 $13.80

SO as you can see a huge part of my summer wardrobe is crop tops! I really love a crop top with high waisted shorts, skirts, jeans, preetttyy much everything lol.

High waisted sailor shorts

I love that the buttons on these add a little something more to the top, when you have so much material.

Platform heel booties

Okay so to be specific the platform booties from Charlotte Russe (first photo). These adorable heels are around $50.00 in store, but often one sale. The best part about these would be their resemblance to Jeffrey Campbell Litas (second photo) which will run you about $200! Yes please.
You can purchase these HERE.

Casual Summer Dresses!

I have really loved just throwing on a dress to hang out with friends, or for any casual outings lately. No time to pair a cute outfit? Throw on a simple summer dress, you can go edgy like the 'Swag' Dress on the left, or girly and light with color or patterns and you an instantly flawless and very put together look.

Saving the best for last we have my over all favorite piece of the month. STAR WARS muscle tee! Now I love star wars so my nerd heart stopped when I saw this in forever 21. It's long enough to wear with leggings and with it's long loose fit has a really cute casual look
